Fallout 4 is the next game in the Fallout series, it was confirmed on Twitter.
Twitter confirmation of a new Fallout gameEdit
Pete Hines of Bethesda Softworks said: "The whole reason we went out and acquired the license and that we now own Fallout is that we clearly intended to make more than one. This is not something we're going to do once and then go away and never do it again. When that will be or how long that will be God only knows, but we acquired it specifically because we wanted to own it and develop it and work on it like we do with The Elder Scrolls."
Erik Dellums also hinted on Twitter that his character Three Dog would make a return in this new game. He also stated that he had permission from Bethesda to leak such info. It was quickly said that this meant Fallout 4 was imminent by the media. However, Bethesda then confirmed that he was talking about an entirely different game which was not in fact Fallout 4.
November 13, 2013 - A website called thesurvivor2299.com was created containing morse codes and puzzles, as well as a timer counting down to the announcement of Fallout 4. This was also done with Fallout 3, a website being launched with coded messages and a timer.
December 6, 2013 - Bethesda announced that they had nothing to do with this website and that it was just regarded as a hoax.
December 11, 2013 - Kotaku confirms the game is in fact in development, with official documents to prove that fact. This game was said to be set in Massachusetts. The documents didn't actually reference Fallout though, however one page started with a famous line from Fallout "War. War never changes", which is usually in the intro of the games.
A release date has not yet been set.
